Dr. Abert and Dr. Pedroza took their entire office staff to Steamboat Springs for the Colorado Optometric Association’s Colorado Vision Summit.  This annual event is held alternatively in either Denver or Steamboat.  This year, Dr. Abert, Dr. Pedroza, Valencia, Teressa, Rachel, and Gabe all attended the meeting.  It was a great time for our eye doctors to learn more about eye care, and our staff learn more about how to efficiently serve our patients.

Among the classes that Drs. Abert and Pedroza attended were: dry eye classes, pharmaceutical reviews, eye disease diagnosis and management, ocular dermatology, ocular emergencies, optic nerve anomalies (including glaucoma care), retinal disease review, cataract and refractive surgery (including LASIK and PRK) course, and a course on oral and topical antiinflamatory medications.

At Vista Eye Care in Thornton, our optometrists pride themselves on offering personalized eye exams and as part of that promise to our patients, our doctors meet and exceed their continuing education requirements in an ongoing effort to stay current on treatment and medications.  We believe strongly in regular eye care, and encourage all our patients to have their eye health and vision checked yearly at our practice.  Please schedule your appointment today by calling us at (303) 450-2020, but not before you check out a few pictures from our fun weekend in Steamboat!

This eye is actually a knot in an aspen tree that Dr. Abert spotted while hiking. Pretty cool, huh?

Flowers seen along the trail

These flowers were just too cool to not photograph!

Here we all are in the convention hall. Gabe didn’t quite make it into this photo, but he was there!
