Meet Bill, our racing duck. Bill wears sunglasses to protect his eyes at the recommendation of his optometrist Dr. Abert.

Vista Eye Care has again purchased a duck for the annual Northglenn/Thornton Rotary Club Duck Race.  The race begins on September 17th at 2:00 PM.  Ducks will cross the starting line at Farmers Highline Canal in Northglenn.  The event benefits the Senior Hub Adult Day Service and CASA.  Our duck, Bill, raced last year.  He has spent the entire summer training, and we are confident that he has what it takes to win!  Bill wears sunglasses to protect his sensitive duck eyes from harmful ultraviolet rays from the sun.  Because Bill lives at altitude here in Denver, our eye doctors recommend that Bill wear sun protection over his eyes in order to prevent cataracts and macular degeneration.  Along with aquatic racing waterfowl, our optometrists also recommend the same preventative measures for their human patients.  Bill chose his sunglasses from Vista Eye Care’s extensive sunglasses selection.
