The new year is here!  The doctors, opticians, and staff at Vista Eye Care wish you and your family a great 2013.  If your New Year’s Resolution is related to your health, consider including eye care as part of that commitment to yourself.

Vision effects from diseases such as macular degeneration, cataracts, and glaucoma are largely preventable if you can catch them early enough.  Knowing how to properly prevent these diseases from affecting your eye health and vision can ensure a lifetime of great seeing.  It all starts with your yearly eye check-up.  During that exam, our eye doctors measure your refractive error (glasses or contact lens power) and determine the best way to get you seeing clearly and comfortably.  The next step is a thorough check of your ocular health including the front and back of your eyes.  We recommend children be seen at 6-12 months of age (known as an “InfantSEE” exam as promoted by the American Optometric Association) to rule out any early-life congenital abnormalities or vision defects that may impair proper eye development.

Don’t forget about your eye health!  Please call our office today to schedule this year’s eye examination for you and your family, and have a fantastic 2013!
