Dr. Abert, Rachel, Sonya, and Troy promote sun protection!

Vista Eye Care was represented at Thornton’s Peru5K. By sponsoring the Peru5K, our practice was helping raise money for a Child Development Center in rural Peru. Dr. Brian Abert and his staff set up a booth at the race to promote outdoor sun protection. Avoiding ultraviolet oxidation of ocular tissues is thought to prevent such diseases as cataracts and macular degeneration. Our message was a simple one: all ages should wear sun protection when outdoors. And the weather and sunshine were there to emphasize the point, as the sun was bright and shining all morning long! A pair of Oakley sunglasses was raffled off and the lucky winner will be contacted on Tuesday.
