We visited the Women’s Bean Project in Denver, Colorado to perform eye exams on their hardworking staff.  From the Women’s Bean Project website: “We believe that all women have the power to transform their lives through employment.  So we hire women who are chronically unemployed and we teach them to work by making nourishing products.  They learn to stand tall, find their purpose and break the cycle of poverty.  Because when you change a woman’s life, you change her family’s life.”

Each Fall, Vista Eye Care performs eye exams at the Women’s Bean Project and we donate any glasses that are needed to get these ladies seeing great!  We encourage you visit their website to purchase some of the amazing products they offer.  Please enjoy the photos below of our fun day at the Bean Project:

Dr. Pedroza works with a Women’s Bean Project employee as part of the exam pre-testing process.

Dr. Deanna Pedroza views the retinas of a Women’s Bean Project employee. All of our eye exams were completed with full eye dilations and assessment of the health of the eyes.

Because we don’t have use of our phoropters, the refractions were performed with a trial lens set. This is a little tedious, but yields great results to get these ladies seeing wonderfully!

Dr. Brian Abert, Dr. Deanna Pedroza, and our Lead Optician Claudia visited the Women’s Bean Project to perform eye exams on all the employees.
