Have you ever thought about trying contact lenses, but don’t really know how the process works?  If you’ve never worn contact lenses before, you may be surprised to learn how easy they can be to use, and how great your vision can be without the hassle of glasses.

Lots of people like to use contact lenses when glasses aren’t a good option.  Circumstances such as sports or working in cold environments (when glasses would fog up) are practical examples of situations where contact lenses can help.  Truth be told, sometimes people just prefer not to wear glasses!  Contact lenses are a great alternative to glasses and can even fine tune vision in post-surgical eyes.

Vista Eye Care has a wide variety of contact lenses including Acuvue Oasys, Acuvue Advanced Plus, Cooper Proclear, Bausch and Lomb Purevision Multifocal, Air Optix Night and Day, Air Optix for Astigmatism, Biofinity, Avaira, Biofinity Toric, Ciba Freshlook, Avaira Toric, Ciba Dailies, Acuvue TruEyes, and many more lenses to choose from.  We maintain one of the best trial contact lens inventories in Thornton to help ensure that we have a lens for you.  In some situations, such as in patients with high refractive error or in post-surgical (LASIK, PRK, RK, or corneal transplant patients), we will special order a contact lens for you, though the majority of our newly-fit patients go home with a pair of lenses on the day of their fit.

At Vista Eye Care, our eye doctors, Dr. Abert and Dr. Pedroza, will fit first time contact lens wearers in a ‘trial contact lens’ that meets that patient’s specific needs.  When the patient’s vision is acceptable, the fit is acceptable, and the comfort is acceptable, our patients get to try their lenses out.  We will teach you to handle your lenses, explaining in detail how to care for the lenses, as well as how to insert and remove the lenses.  When the patient is proficient at inserting/removing their lenses, we will let you try them for about a week to make sure that they work for you.  Any fine tuning such as changing the power, fit, or changing the lens brand can be done at your follow-up visit which is usually a brief appointment.  At Vista Eye Care, the contact lens fitting fee is quite reasonable and includes all the necessary training and follow-up visits required for a successful fit.  Many other offices charge for training, or charge for follow-up visits, though at Vista Eye Care, your initial contact lens fitting fee is all-inclusive.  Please call our office today (and fill out our easy to use Online Welcome Form!) to schedule a contact lens fitting and see what you’ve been missing!
